Uniform colour for links, please?

Hitesh2010 » 周日 12月 05, 2010 11:14 am

To reduce eyestrain, I want all the pages I visit to have all text in black colour except links which should be blue (unvisited) and maroon (visited). The page background should be gray. To that end, I have made this user stylesheet for use with the Chrome browser.

/*1*/* { background-color: #808080 !important; }
/*2*/* { background-image: none !important; }
/*3*/* html, body { background-color: #808080 !important; }
/*4*/* { color: black !important; }
/*5*/* { text-shadow: none !important; }
/*6*/* { text-decoration: none !important; }
/*7*/* a:link { color: blue !important; }
/*8*/* a:visited { color: maroon !important; }
/*9*/* a:hover { background-color: #505050 !important; }
/*10*/* [style] { color: inherit !important; }

My problem is that on many pages, some links still appear black (perhaps because of line 4) and I don't know what to do! Line 10 has helped considerably, but there are still links that remain black and are a source of confusion since I expect (and want) links to be blue or maroon only.

Thanks for responding (even if it is to say that what I want is not currently possible)!

PS: I'm not experienced at all in CSS.

body {background-color: #808080;color: black;}
a:link {color:blue;}
a:visited {color:maroon;}
a:hover {background-color: #505050;text-decoration:none;} /* Don't really know what you meant, a colorchange or a background */

Another option is deleting all your browser history, and have a look again!

Let me ask my question another way?

See this site, for example: http://www.business-standard.com/

I view it without any user stylesheet.

It has links in gray and links in blue. Visiting any link doesn't change the colour.

Is there any way, I, as a viewer of that site, can have my own user stylesheet that allows me to view all links (on that site, or any other) in just one colour, blue for unvisited and red for visited?

You can't edit any stylesheet on any other site than your own.
